Mrs Didi Esther Walson-Jack has been sworn in by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Monday as the substantive Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, HoCSF.

This followed the retirement of Dr. Folasade Yemi-Esan on Monday, who would reach the mandatory 60years age this Tuesday, August 13.

The appointment of Mrs Walson-Jack as the new HoCSF was made public on July 17, 2024, by the Special Adviser to the President on Media & Publicity, Chief Ajuri Ngelale.

According to the media release from Ngelale, the appointment takes effect from August 14, 2024, as Dr Yemi-Esan is due to retire on August 13, 2024.

Mrs. Walson-Jack was promoted to the rank of a Permanent Secretary in the federal civil service in 2017 after she has served in several federal ministries.

President Tinubu, while thanking the outgoing Head of Service for her stewardship, also tasked the incoming Head of Service to discharge her duties with innovative flair, integrity, and stringent adherence to the extant rules and regulations of the Civil Service of the Federation.

While bowing out of the civil service on Monday, after after several years of meritorious service to the nation, Dr Yemi-Esan appreciated the efforts of President Tinubu on his commitment towards making Nigeria Civil Service get better.
