Ogun NUJ to host 3 Senators, 9 Reps for Stewardship Dialogue.

The Nigeria Union of Journalists(NUJ) Ogun State Council, has expressed its readiness to host House of Representative members and senators from Ogun State to enable them have media dialogue with journalists on their one year in office.

The dialogue themed: Dialogue With Ogun Journalists will feature stewardship and impacts made by all the nine law members in the National Assembly and the three Senators, respectively, with the last one year.  

This is in line with the constitutional responsibility and core value of the journalism profession, as the fourth estate of the realm, to hold public officials accountable towards strengthening our nascent democracy.

According to the release, a letter dated 13th of June and signed by the NUJ State Secretary, Comrade Bunmi Adigun with the directives of the Chairman of the Council, Comrade Wale Olanrewaju, has been sent to all the senators and the House of Representative members.

Below is an extract from the letter:

"In marking this one year in office, the state council of the Union is putting up a program for all the nine House of Reps members, and the three senators from Ogun State, tagged "Dialogue with Ogun Journalists" where you will be able to speak to over five hundred journalists in Ogun what you have done in the last one year of representation".

The event will be held between the 24th and 29th of June 2024 at the Iwe-iroyin Press Center Oke ilewo Abeokuta.

The council then congratulated all the law makers on the successful completion of their one year in office as legislators.
