Former Nigeria president, Dr Goodluck Ebele Jonathan on Saturday morning arrived in Islamabad, Pakistan as part of the Commonwealth Observer Group (COG) for the nation's coming elections scheduled for February 8.
He tweeted the news of his arrival in Islamabad on his X handle through which he expressed his appreciation of the good reception given him by the Nigeria High Commission in Pakistan.
Below is the tweet:
"I arrived in Islamabad early this morning on election duty and immediately joined the Commonwealth Observer Group (COG) in the consultations with various stakeholders in Pakistan including PWDs, civil society associations, youth groups, media and the diplomatic community.
In the coming days, we will hold more interactions to acquaint ourselves with the level of preparedness ahead of Pakistan's scheduled February 8, 2024 general elections.
I thank the Pakistani authorities, members of COG, and officials of the Nigerian High Commission here in Islamabad for the warm reception and wish the people of Pakistan peaceful and successful elections.
