The world is a stage with endless drama. Everyone in it is an actor. Each person is acting either major or minor roles; all according to the life script.
This the Holy Bible corroborates in Proverbs 16:4. "The Lord has made all things for himself: yea, even the wicked for the day of evil".
Somehow, because of the ability to make decisions and choices, which the creator of life gave everyone, human beings often attempt to act contrary or beyond their assigned roles.
In spite of that ability, the global director of this life drama, in His infinite wisdom, ensures that the Divine and natural forces controlling the universe, which He put in place to check everyone, also make all human errors and excesses work together, for the life drama to be more interesting. Just as the Holy Bible states in Proverbs 19:21 , "There are many devices in a man's heart; nevertheless the counsel of the Lord, that shall stand".
This sheds light a bit on what the concept of destiny is all about. That means, no matter how brilliant one is, in planning, strategising and setting goals for their life, one can only work on thoughts or ideas that the Universal Mind allows to cross one's mind or conceived in the person's mind.
That means one can only become or achieve what the Master of the universe, allows or destines them to attain ( as stated in Jeremiah 1:4-5, Ephesians 1:4, Ecclesiastes 9:11, e.t.c).

For late Pa John Folorunsho Elugbe Akhogbai, a retired Superintendent of Police, Tueday, November 28, 2023, was the appointed day for him to leave the theatrical stage of life.
Expectedly none of his loved ones wanted him to leave this world at the time he did. He has just spent a day and a month after celebrating his 70th birthday anniversary on October 27, 2023. His wives, children and grandchildren, in-laws and well wishers, wanted him to live for at least, another ten or twenty years, even more than that.
This is what his first son-in-law, an Awori Prince, Enoch Adebayo Akinde and the deceased's first daughter, A/P (Mrs) Oluwakemi Akinde and others, clearly expressed in their tributes on his death.

In the theater of life however, nobody is allowed to spend beyond the time allocated for them on the stage. Why? There is time for everything under the sun.
This explains why this retired police officer couldn't breath beyond the time he was predestined to live here on earth.
Now, let us scroll down the pages of his biography and bring a summary of how he lived his life, the roles he played on the theatrical stage of life, to your awareness.
Late Pa Akhogbai came into this world on 27th October 1953, through a couple named Pa Daniel Akhogbai and Madam Comfort Modupe Akhogbai of Iyokha Quarters, Otuo, in Owan East Local Government Area of Edo State.
He attended L.A. Primary School, Mokola, Ibadan, capital of Oyo State, for his primary education. While in primary school he proceeded to live with his uncle at Warri, Delta State, where he finished his primary and secondary school education.
For a reason (s) well known to him, he ventured into policing as a career after his secondary school education. So, in 1975 he was enlisted in the Nigeria Police Force, NPF, as a police constable.
He attended The Police College, Enugu, for his training, while he was around 22years old then. Later in 1977 he was promoted to the rank of a corporal and served at the Police Mobile Force, Ogun State Command, Eleweran, Abeokuta, till 1982.
In July 1989 he further climbed higher the ladder of the police to the rump of a Sergeant and continued till July same year. While he was still in the rank of a Sergeant, he served as a patrol officer at Idiroko Division, Ogun State, until March, 1992.
Through dint of hard work, commitment to duty and God's grace, he became an inspector in April 1992. He served in Zone 2 Headquarters, Onikan, Lagos, till November, 1994. He was redeployed to Idimu Division, Lagos in November 1994, where he served till September 1995. He was thereafter moved to Ketu Division, Lagos State in September, 1995, to be Station Officer, where he served till November 2002.
He got promoted to the rank of an Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) in December 2002 and served in that capacity till July 2008. Between that time and January 2004, he was redeployed to Yola, Adamawa State Command, where he served as a Provost Marshall Officer.
He was thereafter redeployed to Ogun State where he served as a patrol and guard officer at Idiroko Division, even with his ASP rank, between March 2004 through February 2005.
He also served as Patrol and Guard Officer with his ASP rank at Sango-Ota Division of Ogun State between February 2005 and July 2008.
This galant officer was promoted to the rank of a Deputy Superintendent of Police, DSP, in July 2008. He was also made a Divisional Police Officer, DPO, for Idiroko Division of Ogun State in July 2008. He served in that position till March 2009.
He was appointed Divisional Crime Officer, DCO, in March 2009, for Ago-Iwoye Division of Ogun State; and remained in that position till November 2010.
In 2012, after 35years of meritorious service in the Nigeria Police Force, he retired as a Deputy Superintendent of Police(DSP).
MARRIAGE AND FAMILY LIFE
Pa Akhogbai began the journey to his family life in 1977 when he got married to his first wife, Lady Abigail Folorunsho Akhogbai. The union, however produced three children; and first of them, an Assistant Pastor and wife of a Zonal Pastor in The Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG.
His marriage with Mrs Akhogbai later faced some crisis which eventually led to their separation.
He thereafter got married to Lady Bola Folorunsho; and the marriage produced two children.
About 11 years after his retirement he joined the club of Septuagenarians, as he attained the age of 70; which he celebrated on October 27, 2023, in his residence at Ota, Ogun State.
He later fell sick and was driven to the Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital, Sagamu, for medical attention, to safe his life. Precisely a day and a month after his 70th birthday, he gave up the ghost at the hospital. And that marked the end of his life sojourn on earth, and his transition to the celestial realm.
TRIBUTES ON HIM
His demise brought a great sorrow to his eldest daughter, A/P Mrs Akinde and his first son-in-law, Prince Akinde, who jointly tried all they could to rescue him from the jaws of death; but all to no avail.
This bereaved couple is not the only one that was sad over his transition to the great beyond. Most of the family members who are connected to this retired officer mourned his death. In-laws, neighbours, Community Development Association, CDA, members and others; all expressed their sadness over the death, in their tributes published in the funeral program pamphlet.
In spite of all these, they have reasons to give thanks to God. Afterall, he lived up to 70years. So, he didn't die young. Moreso, he was not killed by armed robbers in the line of duty. He was not dismissed from the NPF. He ended his career without any obvious regret.
While in the police service and thereafter, he didn't play a role that could bring shame to the family. He didn't turn his gun to crime equipment for acquiring wealth in a dubious way. Instead, he was contented with the little he was able to get in justifiable ways during his 35years of service to the nation.
In view of these, he deserved a befitting burial. This was fixed for Friday, December 22, 2023 by the family.
The Christian wake keep, which marked the beginning of his glorious exit was held at his Idedo, Atan Ota residence, in Ogun State.
HIS BURIAL SERVICE
His funeral service was held at Highly Favoured Zonal Headquarters Parish of The Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG , Onibuku, Atan Ota. It started by 10am, with many pastors of the RCCG and others in attendance. The pastor in charge of the RCCG Zone, who hosted them, Pastor Philip Alabi preached his sermon with the Bible texts taken from 1 Thessalonians 4:13-14 and Revelations 7: 9-17.
While the funeral program lasted, his profile was read, and announcement was made by different officiating ministers, which was followed with choir ministration, before the sermon began.
The family members were thereafter prayed for; after the powerful sermon that urged everyone in the congregation to examine their lives and amend their ways, in order to be fit for eternal life. Last respect was paid for the deceased, with singing of Hymn 287, read from the RCCG Hymn Book. The congregation also sang Recessional Hymn, as they move out of the church building.
After the funeral service in the church, the coffin containing the corpse was conveyed to the grave side. The interment of his remains was carried out at his Idedo, Atan Ota residence, where they bade him farewell till resurrection day.
Thereafter, the family gathered with their guests at De Solvick Hall, along Owode Idiroko Road, Ota, for the reception at 1pm.
High chiefs and community heads from Aworiland also came to the place as guests of Prince Akinde. Likewise many pastors and members of the RCCG who travelled down from Lagos, other parts of Ogun and other States were there also.
On the roll call of pastors in attendance were: The Assistant Regional Pastor of the RCCG in Delta State, who is also the Pastor In Charge of Delta Province 2; Pastor Joseph Olusegun Abimbola, with his wife, Pastor (Mrs) Loveth Omobolaji Abimbola and Pastor Ayuba Usman (from Lagos State).
Among pastors from RCCG Ogun Province 11 were: Pastor Olaitan Gbenro and his wife Pastor (Mrs) Gbenro. From Ogun Province 5 were : Pastor Felix Ogintoyinbo and his wife, A/P (Mrs) Felix Oguntoyinbo, Pastor (Mrs) Dorcas Adeleke, Pastor Femi Balogun, A/P (Mrs) Omotola Awoyemi, A/P John Daodu. Other pastors' wives: , Mrs Kehinde Sobiye and Mrs Francis Ejembi, from Sagamu, were also in attendance with many other ministers of God and their church members.

The Akinde Family and the Okewaye Ruling House of Ado Odo Town were fully represented. Prince Akinde's friends and colleagues from the corporate world and other sectors like Engr. Lawrence Adetogun and his wife, Mrs Titilade Adetogun of the Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital (OOUTH), Sagamu, Everest Metal Nigeria Ltd and others were not left out at the ceremony.
Apart from the guests of A/P (Mrs) Akinde and her husband, other guests invited by Deaconess Rachael Imafojie and her husband, Mrs Bola Folorunsho, Mrs Abigail Folorunsho, Mr Timothy Folorunsho, Mrs Adebimpe Folorunsho Obayomi, Mr Adewale Folorunsho, Mrs Saka Adeola, and the deceased's grandchildren, with the extended family members, men and officers of the Nigeria police who came in mufti, among others, were all there as well, to celebrate the Life and Times of DSP John Elugbe Akhogbai, as he bade the world "Goodbye"; thereby closing the chapter on his sojourn in this visible world.
