Like the proverbial goldfish that has no hiding place, Pastor Enoch Adebayo Akinde was discovered by the National Executive Council of the Moshood Abiola Polytechnic Alumni Association, MAPALUM, as a distinguished personality and silent achiever who deserves to be honoured. If not for other reasons, at least to spur him to keep on distinguishing himself, through dint of hard work, generosity, indelible character, among others.

Consequently, he was conferred with a Distinguished Alumni Merit Award on Saturday, 20th of August, 2022, in Abeokuta, Ogun State, along with some eminent personalities and other great achievers in Nigeria.
It was a big event in which the Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun, was the Chief Host, while the State Commissioner for Agriculture, Dr Adeola Odedina, was the Chairman of the occasion.

Four past rectors of the Moshood Abiola Polytechnic (MAPOLY) Abeokuta; TPL Waheed Kadiri, Arc. Tokunbo Fowode, Prof. Oludele Itiola, including Dr Adeola Odedina, were also inducted into Committee of Distinguished Alumni(CODA).
The National President of the MAPALUM, Pastor Ezekiel Olusanjo Obasanya who spoke on the reasons for bestowing on them such honour and inducting some of the awardees , described them as "...Alumni who have excelled in the society and other distinguished personalities who have contributed immensely to the growth and development of the institution into CODA.
"We have also identified two alumni members who are worthy of our recognition award, due to their exemplary lives and support to the development of our chapters,"the president added.
HIS PERSONALITY PROFILE
A man of many parts, Pastor Enoch Adebayo Akinde is a success-driven personality, whose success-oriented lifestyle has seen him traversing many areas of human endeavors.
He is an astute Business Administrator, a trained Marketer, professional Human Resources manager, theological teacher, mechanized farmer and a clergyman.
Without mincing words, this man with paternal and maternal royalty ancestries, has developed basic success and leadership principles from childhood, which have seen him through a lot of life challenges and coming out stronger; even from obscurity to significance.
Today, he is the Human Resources/Administrative Manager of an India company, Everest Metal Nigeria Limited, a mechanized Farmer, President of Redeemer's Men Fellowship(RMF) in Ogun Province 5, an Area Pastor in the Redeemed Christian Church of God(RCCG), Chairman of Farmers Cooperative Society, Coordinator of the Redeemed Christian School of Disciples(RCSD), among others.
BIRTH, EARLY LIFE & EDUCATION
He was born on 22nd April 1969 into a royal family of Okewaye Ruling House by Late Mr Rasaki Akinde and Late Mrs Ashakun Ogunnike Akinde of Idofe Compound, Idofe, Ado-Odo, in Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government Area of Ogun State.
Suffice to add that Late Mrs Ashakun Ogunnike Akinde was born by Late Mr Arubo Bankole. And his siblings were Late Mr Abiodun Bankole(Elder brother) and Late Mrs Aduke Adepeju (Elder sister); and her mother (Mrs Akinde)'s grandfather was Mr Aina Arubo, of Okewaye Ruling House, from Okewaye, in the Ado Odo kingdom.
He attended United African Methodist Church(UAMC) Primary School, Eleja, Ado-Odo, where he obtained his First School Leaving Certificate (1976-82). He thereafter went to St. Stephen Commercial High School, Ado Odo, Otta, Ogun State, where he acquired his West African School Certificate(Ordinary Level) between 1982 and 1987.
In spite of his royal ancestry he had a very humble beginning with a lot of challenges that hindered him from going to higher institution immediately after finishing his secondary school. This consequently led to his opting for doing many jobs for some years, trying to survive and succeed in life.
VISION & MISSION TO LEAD BY SERVING WELL
He however, realised along the line that he was destined to lead a lot of people to greater heights in future and help them realise their dreams. This necessitated the need to train himself very well, and to develop his leadership capacity to enable him serve people well in any position he finds himself .
Consequently he proceeded to the then Ogun State Polytechnic (now Moshood Abiola Polytechnic) Abeokuta; where he studied and obtained National Diploma in Marketing (1994-97).
For him to be able to raise men and women and nurture them to become leaders, God began to prepare him for leadership position, so that he would not only have the fear of God but be careful in dealing with the people, knowing full well that he would one day give account of how he lead others.
UNIVERSITY EDUCATION & LEADERSHIP TRAINING

His strong desire to become a full graduate prompted him to later attend the Olabisi Onabanjo University, (OOU), Ago Iwoye, Ogun State, in 2009, where he bagged Bachelor's degree(B.Sc) in Business Administration.
His thirst for constant improvement however, prompted him to regularly attend seminars, conferences and other training programmes.
In 2010 he embarked on Advanced Supervisory Management and Leadership Skill Workshop. He also attended Effective Presentation Skills in December 2010. In January 2011, he participated in HIV/AIDS Counsellor Training. He thereafter engaged in Human Manager Training in December 2011. In July 2012, he participated in Management Development Course. He later attended Human Resources Business Foundation Course in July 2013.
As a proactive man, he extended his learning scope by engaging in Defensive Driving Training in December 2016.
Pastor Akinde also attended Building Effective Inter-functional Relationship training. He thereafter took part in Foundation For Business Execution course; both in December 2017.
All these training programmes were engaged in while he was simultaneously embarking on his B.Sc course.
For him to impart more lives as a leader, he engaged in Coaching and Counselling Workshop and Career Development Training in March 2019.
In February 2020, he participated in the Goal Setting Workshop. And in June same year he took part in HR Internal Consulting Workshop. He also engaged in Project Management Foundation training and Change Management course in April 2021.
Of course, this habit of constantly learning has contributed a lot to his leadership acumen, administrative prowess and intellectual capacity.
To be effective in his pastoral assignments, he also attended the Redeemed Christian School of Disciples(RCSD) where he was awarded SoD Certificate and The Redeemed Christian Bible College(RCBC) in which he bagged Diploma/Post Graduate Diploma(PGD) in Theology.
He is currently winding up his Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA) programme at the Redeemer's University for Nations(RUN), Ede, Osun State.

WORK EXPERIENCE
As a man who has been working from childhood as a farmer's son, he realised in his tutelage that the easiest way to become relevant in life is by being very hardworking.
After engaging in series of menial jobs in the informal sectors, he joined the Pfizer Products Plc in 1989 as a Motor Assistant. He was later promoted to the post of Line Inspector at the Quality Assurance Department of the company in 1991.
He was in that position until 1994 when another chapter was opened for him in his academic journey to higher institution; and he left the company to study.
After bagging diploma in 1997 he embarked on his one year Industrial Attachment programme at the Sales and Marketing Department of NYSIL Products Ltd, at Otta, Ogun State. In 1998 he secured a Sales Executive job at Homus Industries Ltd.
In 2000 he became the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Pharez Industrial Enterprises. He left this position in 2008 to become the Personnel/Employees Relations Manager of a bigger company, Phoenix Steel Mills Ltd to broaden his corporate experience, among other benefits.
In 2010, while still occupying that position, he was offered higher appointment as Human Resources/Administrative Manager by another India company, Everest Metal Nigeria Limited.
As the only black man in the management team of the company, he has been able to make a lot of impacts and retained the position till date.
With proper planning and effective utilization of his time and other resources, he was able to venture into agribusiness and invest in mechanized farming, even while managing the human resources and administrative issues of the company..
LEADERSHIP EXPERIENCE /ROLES
Since habit, according to a Yoruba maxim, "is like flame which can hardly be concealed", his leadership traits and skills easily expose him wherever he is.
He is the President of Redeemer's Men Fellowship(RMF) of the Redeemed Christian Church of God(RCCG) for Ogun Province 5, the Chairman/Coordinator of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic Christian Union Alumni Fellowship (MAPOCUNAF) for Remo-Ijebu Chapter.
He is also the Chairman of Farmers Cooperative Society,and an Area Pastor in the RCCG, in spite of his official job in the company where he works, in addition to his personal business interests.
MEMBERSHIP OF PROFESSIONAL ASSOCIATIONS
He is a full member of the Chartered Institute of Administration (CIAN) and Student member of Chartered Institute Of Personnel Management of Nigeria(CIPMN). He is also a member of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria(PFN)
A DESERVED MERIT AWARD
For a man who has rejected several awards offered him by many organizations, taking this Distinguished Alumni Merit Award from the alumni association of one of his alma maters, became inevitable.
The caliber of people he was honoured along with included: the four former rectors of the institution mentioned earlier: the current Commissioner of Agriculture, Dr Odedina, a veteran town planner, TPL Waheed Kadiri, A Fellow of the NIA, Arc. Tokunbo Fowode and Prof Oludele Adelanwa Itiola.
Outstanding royal fathers rewarded along with him were: two first class monarchs: The Olota of Ota, HRM Oba (Prof.)Adeyemi Obalanlege, and Agura of Gbagura, HRM Oba(Dr)Saburee Babajide Bakre.
Other personalities include: the National Information Officer of the United Nations Information Centre, (UNIC)Nigeria, Dr Oluseyi Soremekun; former Chief Press Secretary to the Ogun State Governor and current General Manager of NTA Abeokuta, Mrs Funmi Wakama, a consummate marketing and media executive, Mr Lanre Oyegbola, a Fellow of Chartered Accountant(FCA),banker and the M.D/C.E.O. of Asset Matrix Microfinance Bank, Mr Temitope Oduseso and a U.K. based management expert, Mr Kunle Orekoya.
Also awarded along with him were: the first National President of the association and member of the Board of Trustees of NTA Abeokuta, Pastor Anthony Adeniji, a Fellow of the Institute of Strategic Management(FSM); Asiwaju Taiwo Olusanya, Founder/President of Leadership Impact Dynamic, Mr Ade Adeyemi and others.
While speaking to Successful People Magazine on the reasons for accepting the award, Pastor Akinde said,
"There are certain things you can not run away from when you get to certain stage in life, based on the seeds you have sown"
He expressed gladness over the award, and pointed out that it was an opportunity for him to meet people that matter in area of academics and other fields, in the CODA.

He dedicated the award to his wife, A/P(Mrs ) Oluwakemi Akinde, for her constant unflinching support.
