Nigeria gets 99 private universities as FG approves 20 new ones

The Federal Government has approved the establishment of 20 new private universities across the country.

This brings the number of private universities in Nigeria to 99.

The approval was given Wednesday by the Federal Executive Council during the FEC meeting in Abuja after the memo submitted by the Minister for Education had been deliberated upon.

The 20 new private universities are to be given provisional licenses to run for three years while the ministry monitors and evaluates their growth.
