The Ogun State Ministry of Community Development and Cooperatives on Saturday officially inaugurated Ileri Oluwa Community Development Committee, Sagamu, and gave them Certificate of Recognition.
The inauguration cum presentation of certificate was carried out by the Community Development Officer of Sagamu Local Government, Mrs Afolake Afolabi, on behalf of the State officials, at Graceland Events Centre, behind Sakura Police Divisional Headquarters, Ayepe Road, Sagamu.
The Ileri Oluwa ACDC Chairman, Apostle Samuel Olusegun Ajayi who received the certificate, and other executive members of the committee, were full of joy, having been expecting the inauguration since December 2019.He then solicited their continuous unflinching support, while acknowledging the roles every CDA has played in ensuring that this inauguration came into reality.
A notable dignitary at the occasion, a retired Deputy Inspector General of Police and the Olofin of Makun, Sagamu, Chief Olusegun Ogunyanwo, who was the Father of the Day, commended the people for their cooperation and progressive minds.He narrated how he got to the community and what attracted him into joining the ACDA developmental efforts after building his property there. He consequently advised the people to be more united.
The Olu of Sakura, Oloye Afolami Akodu, who was the Royal Father of the Day, promised his readiness for continuous collaboration and cooperation.The District Police Officer of Sakura Police Division, CSP Roland K.Dahunsi urged the leaders of the ACDC to quickly set up an orientation committee who will be educating the people on various developments in the community and the need for people to support the police to make the place more and constantly secured.
The Chairman of Offin Area CDC, Sagamu, Prince Dauda Obafemi, urged the people of Lalu, Sakura and Ladejobi communities who formed the Ileri Oluwa ACDC to be ready to give their time, money and love always, saying these are the ingredients for development and peace in any community.He however implored the people to support every project the CDAs and ACDC embark on for the benefits of everybody.
Mother of the day, Alhaja Zainab Adenike Odunsi, commended the efforts of the EXCO members of the ACDC, saying the inauguration ought to have been carried out latest in April this year but for the outbreak of the COVID-19.
The General Secretary of the Ileri Oluwa ACDC, Wale Prof Adetona, thereafter led the gathering into fund raising for the foundation laying of the Community Health Centre. And that was done successfully, as the Father of the day, Chief Ogunyanwo, bell the cat with a good donation, and the Mother of the Day, Alhaja Odunsi, followed suit.
The treasurer of the ACDC, Mr Femi Sadiku, who coordinated the donation exercise has success story to tell at the end of the program as each CDA through their Chairman or his representative, pledged to donate a specific amount of either blocks or cement, to ensure the project is embarked upon before January 2021.Behold The Leaders of the Ileri Oluwa ACDC Executive Committee:
