Bamidele commiserates with Buhari on Abba Kyari's death ...Calls for ruthless actions against COVID-19

The Chairman Senate Committee on Judiciary , Human Rights and Legal Matters, Senator Michael Opeyemi Bamidele, has commiserated with President Muhammadu Buhari on the death of his Chief of Staff, Abba Kyari, who died on Friday after contracting Coronavirus.

Bamidele, in a statement in Ado Ekiti,on Saturday, said that the news of Kyari's death was saddening and signaled that the dreaded COVID-19 has become a national malaise.

The senator, nicknamed M.O.B, who represents Ekiti Central Senatorial District in the National Assembly, then called for concerted and more ruthless actions to get rid of the pandemic.

He described the late Chief of Staff to the President, as a loyal and dependable ally, who left indelible footprints at the nation's presidency during his lifetime.

He said, "My heart goes towards  President Buhari , the Borno State Governor, Prof Babagana Zulum as well as Kyari's  immediate family and admirers at this excruciating moment of grief.

"I pray to Almighty God to grant them the fortitude to  bear the monumental loss. May God look down on all of us with His divine mercy and heal our land." He added.

While paying a tribute via the statement, Bamidele said, "the coordinating and stabilising roles played by Kyari under President Muhammadu Buhari's presidency, had brought him fame and respect that would ever remain a reference point in the history of the country."

The federal Lawmaker added that the achievements of the Buhari's government and holistic Implementation of programmes of government were achievable through Kyari's inputs and contributions .

He made it clear that the demise of Kyari was devastating , because every ardent follower of the presidency, which is the symbol of the nation, would attest to the enormous influence wielded by the departed presidential aide.

"Though, he didn't play much  politics, but he undertook pivotal administrative roles that had contributed immensely to the execution of programmes and policies of the APC-led federal government at the federal level." Bamidele explained.

According to the senator, "The stabilising role and those spartan and incorruptible qalities of Abba Kyari would be sorely missed by President Buhari and other Nigerians , who valued the competence of the late Chief of Staff."
