No matter how small a seed of greatness is, once it is planted on fertile ground, it will germinate, bear fruits and become a mighty "tree". So it is with the life of a man named Alhaji Abiodun Muritala Tijani, the Chairman and CEO of AK Farms & Feeds Mill Ltd.
NO HIDING PLACE FOR GOLD FISH
The 2019 AER Award winners and AFS Ambassadors |
Like a gold fish that has no hiding place, he was nominated recently for the Agribusiness Excellence Recognitions Award(AERA) by a non governmental organisation, Save-an-African Child Agricultural Education Mission.(SACAEM)
So, on Thursday, November 28, 2019, the series of success stories and achievements he has been hiding from the public were disclosed. And that marked the beginning of his journey to greatness in life.
The gigantic Prof Mahmood Yakubu Lecture Theatre of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta(FUNAAB), Ogun State, was full to capacity. Occupying it were the varsity's undergraduates and staff members, invited students from some schools, the organizers and recipients of the AER Awards and their guests, and other invitees, to either witness or make the event successful.
TIJANI'S DAY OF HONOUR
It was a day of honour and glory for Alhaji Tijani, when it was his turn for the conferment of the award and his investiture as Africa Food Survival Ambassador (AFSA). As the man anchoring the program, Pastor Segun Ogunaike, asked him to come out for his award and investiture, he stepped out quietly in his usual character of humility, but some deafening rounds of applause from the audience rented the theatre.
Of course, his wife and some of his company's staff members were there to witness the occasion and rejoice with him. As he moved to the podium for the conferment, Mrs Adesuwa Ejhoyokar, read his citation.
